New College of Florida is among 20 schools nationwide receiving accolades for affordability, as the school has been named a “best buy” in higher education by Fiske Guidebook to Colleges.
The annual guide, considered to be one of the top guides for prospective college students, describes the Sarasota school as a “public ivy” where students enjoy an intimate learning environment for a bargain price.
“Students praise the personalized attention they receive from professors; graduate students and teaching assistants don’t lead classes here and 71% of classes have fewer than 20 students,” the guide states. “All disciplines provide the opportunity for original research and students also may conduct field research around the globe.”
